The Lydia Greenway Cricket for Girls Academy sessions will take place on a Friday evening at Tonbridge School, and Saturday mornings/afternoons at The County Ground, Beckenham. The academy will cover all aspects of the game, giving the players insight into areas of the game not often covered.

What will the players receive?

Below are examples of what the sessions will include:

  • Technical batting, bowling and fielding support
  • Team fielding sessions
  • Tactical awareness and leadership workshops
  • The art of batting, bowling and fielding workshops
  • Mental skills workshops
  • Nutritional and physical development sessions
  • Guest coaches and speakers

All sessions are carried out in a fun and friendly environment whilst aiming to maximise and facilitate player learning and development.

How does the Academy work?

The Academy will be launching in January 2017. There will be two winter Academies within Kent (The County Ground, Beckenham and Tonbridge School), each will run fortnightly for four months leading into the start of the season.

Each Academy will work with up to 16 players aged between 11-18. The players will register to be part of the Academy by filling out a registration form.

Over the four months the players will be involved in 8 x 2 hour sessions. In Summer 2017, the Academies will continue with a new registration process, and will follow the same format as the Winter Academies. We also aim to launch a further three Academies throughout England to give more promising female players the same opportunity.

Who can register for the Academy?

Promising club and county players aged between 11-18 can register by filling out a registration form.

Where will the training take place?

The Cricket for Girls Academy sessions will take place on Saturday mornings/afternoons at The County Ground, Beckenham. If players can’t make the odd session at Beckenham they are welcome to join sessions at Tonbridge School on Friday evenings to avoid missing out.
